The customer requires assistance in the design of a novel hydraulic cylinder tailored for a specific application within the agriculture industry. Initial design ideas were outlined on paper and presented in the form of 2D drawings. The client sought to convert these 2D representations into comprehensive 3D models suitable for analysis, simulation, and eventual production, facilitating progress in the manufacturing phase. SolidWorks was selected as the preferred Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software to execute this project.
Sedin undertook an extensive legacy conversion initiative by collaborating with specialized CAD data conversion services. The project encompassed an initial evaluation of the current engineering information, identifying obsolete formats, and formulating a conversion strategy. The primary goals for Sedin were to safeguard intellectual property, foster improved collaboration among design teams, and capitalize on the features offered by state-of-the-art CAD conversion technologies. Secondly, input data are gathered and grouped into specific categories, and an effective project plan was made to deliver quality outputs on the scheduled timeline.
